Mi Belitsky (they/them) is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist specializing in painting, mixed media, printing, fiber art, and mosaic. As a nonbinary queer Jewish artist, Mi explores a variety of themes in their work ranging from gender and sexuality to nature and the human psyche. Mi creates fluid and colorful abstract designs in their work while experimenting with different textures and movements, seeing these as an important part of the artmaking process.

Mi is passionate about community and public art and has both led and collaborated on several community street paintings, outdoor murals, public sculptures, and yarnbombing installations in various cities across the United States. They envision a world where art is accessible to all while recognizing that the power of art and community can be socially transformative.

Mi recently received an M.S. in Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling where they conducted and presented their final research project on, “The Experiences of LGBTQ+ College Students, Group Artmaking, and Their Identity.” They currently work as an art therapist in a community mental health clinic when not in the studio making art.
